After submitting the marriage license application online, couples need to appear together in person at the Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds office to finish the application process.

The Register of Deeds office can be found at 720 East Fourth Street in Charlotte (704) 336-6090.

When couples go to the Register of Deeds office to apply for a marriage license, they need to bring a valid form of photo I.D. such as a passport or driver's license, as well as their social security cards.
